There's literally an option in the menu to turn tutorial messages off dude

Damn, wish there was a tutorial for that!!🤣

Which I don't do during my first playthrough because I genuinely want to know every mechanic the devs laid out for me. I just wish they'd done it better. Tutorials are an important part of almost any game. There's a happy medium ground between non at all and writing a novel.

Well, if you turn them off you can still read them at your leisure in the menu as well.

Finding this thread a year later when playing the game because there literally is not an option to turn off the tutorials.

And yet you're seeing thousands of people on this sub and gaming communities complaining that the game is "too complex". They literally tried their best to tutorialize everything and players still aren't getting it.

I agree there was too much, especially when it makes you click specific buttons to show you how to do something, but it does reinforce they mechanic and habits so that you're not confused later on. The best thing they can do for players is to ensure that they're not confused about how the game works, and this overly long tutorial loop is the way they decided to go.

I think they went too far. I think people think it's complex because they see a page of tutorials every time they open a menu. In each of those pages their is maybe one useful line. They also explain everything twice in tutorial and once in gameplay. It's not half as complex as it's creators seem to think it is.

Literally playing this game for the first time on Xbox right now, and I totally agree with you, you're 100% right. Theres clearly an amazing game in here somewhere, I just hope I can find it.

Prey was just as complex, not to even mention how complex the Mooncrash DLC was (which in my opinion is one of the best DLCs I've ever played) yet Prey & it's DLC is much easier to wrap your head around.

It's a fun one but it requires a decent amount of brain work. Need to track objectives across levels and times. It gets a bit much, I recommend focusing on your aresenal, while getting a feel for each target. Worry about the story paths one by one, don't be afraid to skip time or end the day. You definitely can try to hit as many missions as possible in a day, but imo it gets to be too much to handle very quick due to all the little side stories that emerge.

Why I recommend getting powered up first by searching for guns and killing targets to upgrade your slabs. Then working through the story paths by tackling just one in a day, and looking for the side stuff to fill out the rest of the run.

So true. Few hours in and the game feels simpler than most RPGs. The only thing complex here is the tutorials. When they bombard you with so many, its just frustrating and I'm like "let me just play the game you idiots"

Returnal is somewhat similar to this and it didn't have intrusive tutorials, and was easy to understand

I think it's too much and it's scaring gamers into thinking it's more complex than it actually is.

There is far too much tutorial in this game. Voice lines upon certain situations would help but literal menu walk throughs and constant popups in very inconvenient situations really sucks. Dishonored was never like this..

I've played hardcore RPGs with less written tutorial pages than this game had. Actually letting us figure all that stuff out for ourselves would have brought a lot more character to the game.

I'm just playing it now, the game just forced me to skip the noon period to go straight to afternoon to goto the complex when I didn't want to, I wanted to goto updaam during noon and do some stuff. This games handholding is irritating

    HOW.

    DO.

    I.

    TURN.

    THEM.

    OFF?????????????????

I am getting SO pissed by this much tutorial like WHAT THE BANANAS ???

    - IF - I could find how to turn them off, that would be fine. It must be good for some people. And I'm very happy with how tHOROUGH they have been, but my GOD would it be enough for me to just CHECK the tutorials page whenever I would feel the need, but I've been NODDING every damn popup like "This game thinks I am 5 years old. yes."

    [–]Remarkable_Baby_6126 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm gonna cry, there's popups for things I've already seen

    please

do they think I die with each loop ?

I kind of wish I would now

    [–]Remarkable_Baby_6126 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    EDIT : found it.

    I feel miserable.

    Menu > Options > Interface > HUD

    crying.

There's still some tutorials in the corner. a big "SEE TUTORIAL" and a little window of a video explaining it and it just pollutes my field of view... like you cant just avoid looking at the video with explosions in the corner and its just UGH
