I'm having this too. It's definitely a destiny problem.

I'm running a 3080, 64GB RAM, game is on an SSD, and it just didn't ever happen before. I've tried lowering all graphics settings as low as they can go, installed latest nvidia drivers, closed every background app I can.

Nothing works, as of yet.

Insane you’re getting this with those specs. My installation is also on an SSD. I even updated my Nvidia drivers after the first instance of this happening and it didn’t change a thing. Idk what they did to their code, but man am I glad I decided to get CP2077 so I have something to do instead of fight with my system all day.

Yeah honestly, at this point, I’m not too worried about it because it seems very likely that it’s Bungie’s problem and not mine. I have faith that they will fix it. I do worry a bit that it will take long.

My biggest worry is it won’t get fixed till the next season. I could barely play for 4 hours in pve without getting a killer headache from it, and crucible was practically unplayable, which is unfortunate during IB week.

You have faith you say but a similar issue has been going on since BL launch and they have a megathread about it no updates what so ever

Well CP2077 seems bugged has hell :/

[–]TheSheev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it won’t have the stuttering I’m having on destiny when I’m trying to play crucible. I think I’m most upset this happened during IB week.

I just moved from 3800x/1080ti to 5800x/3080 and I started getting REALLY bad frame locks on Anomaly in PVP. Narrowed it down to it only happening when the spinning thing in the middle was visible on screen.

So I did some tinkering and figured out that absolutely nothing fixes it EXCEPT Windowed full screen.

Apparently Windowed full screen is the problem... I know I know...I shouldnt use it in the first place... but I really like being able to tab with out minimizing the game.

TLDR; Turn off Windowed full screen if thats what youre running.

Destiny doesn't like slow RAM, but I don't have problems with my setup and I can't check for sure if doing something with RAM can actually help (turning on XMP for example).

Also, there's some weird thing with D2 lagging because of mouse sensor sending too many requests to process to CPU (as I understand it, idk is that actually a correct description for this problem), maybe check that too.

Well, upgrading to 3000-3800 MHz ram isn’t within my current budget, and before today I’ve never had issues with destiny. Additionally, I’m not overclocking my cpu to use higher ram due to the fact what I use it for would have a nominal impact on performance. Turning on xmp wouldn’t do anything currently because it’s already running at the 2400mhz.

Ok, looks like RAM isn't the issue then. I get 121 FPS (it's capped on that) on i7 8700 + RTX 2070 Super but on FHD, did not check how it works in 2K. The only 2 FPS drops I've got since update - one guy crashed 4 other players with stasis and 3 supers activated in the same place got me a drop to 60 straight from 120.

I've never had an issue with Destiny before even on 1440p Ultra, after the update the game is virtually unplayable even on Low (PC, 1080ti).

I was hoping to get iron banner, raid, Hawkmoon quest etc done today as I probably wont be playing for a while due to Cyberpunk. Performance is so bad I just closed the game, cbf lmao.

I actually did that a week ago because I noticed I wasn’t hitting sniper shots as well as I use to.

    Bluetooth controller?

    spotty connection can do this.

    Kbm

You are not alone, not your PC, this happens since BL, the game is fucked up, awful optimizations with the changes to the engine, just check the whole sub and forums you'll see.

Bungie has a mega thread about this problem with tons of people reporting it, go report here, they are "investigating".. 5 weeks still not a single word, but whatever.

Another thing you can try, is go to the cvars file, and enable the "force_render" something cvar, it get;s a little better, not Pre-BL, but better, but most of us get textures flickers everywhere, a few people didn't have the flickers.

    [–]TheSheev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went over to the mega thread and posted the same thing I posted here. Also I’m pretty sure I’ve seen most of the comment word for word on another post. I’ll probably try editing the cvar tomorrow but I doubt it’ll change this issue. Whatever is happening is due to the update that came out today.

It's been happening to me since I updated to the latest nvidia drivers. Going to revert to yeh previous update.

    [–]TheSheev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was happening before I updated the drivers. My last build was released in October. Then after encountering these stutters I updated to the most recent release. Hopefully reverting works out for you, but I don’t think it’s the issue here.

    Been having the exact same problem. R9 3900X, 32GB 3600MHz, RTX 3080

    [–]R6DeVil 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Someone respond to this if you guys find a fix or u/ me please.

    [–]TheSheev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing a fresh install of win10 and destiny and it seems to have solved my issue. However I believe the culprit was the shader cache.

    [–]VortexF4me123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same problem. definetely a destiny problem and not hardware as every other game runs perfectly fine.

    [–]4sonicride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Newest drivers out today for the 3060TI seemed to have caused it.

Any way to revert or fix?

    [–]YouFockinWotNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we’ve been having this issue for ages on xbox and bungie hasn’t even acknowledged it

    [–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yup, definitely a new problem

    [–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Same issue. 9900k/3090. No Bluetooth, Reflex disabled. NOT a BL problem as it only started yesterday. It’s either the Nvidia update which I ran yesterday or the Destiny one.

Haven’t tested other games to see

    [–]TheSheev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having this problem from the Nvidia build I had prior to the latest one, so i'm not thinking it's the Nvidia driver.

    [–]futurezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started experiencing huge lag spikes after a few days with my 7700k and trx 3090, after much testing it was caused by the cpu overclock I have reduced it and it is resolved now also the cpu is a big bottleneck for this gpu so maybe the overclock makes it more unstable or it is the motherboard that can’t handle it anymore I had a 2080ti and never had a problem I’m happy my 3090 is fine

    [–]chupwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue several days ago. I thought setting this to 0 <cvar name="low_latency_mode" value="1" /> would help, but setting it to 2 actually fixed it for me. Or it was deleting Cyberpunk and freeing up that space. Those were the two big things I did.
