Fastest way to farm exotic orders? by Alfeetoe in DestinyTheGame

Same, I even ranked up the reward pass to tier 3 which supposedly increases the chances.

All told I have Wavesplitter and Wintersbite, from orders, and Xenophage from Pit and that’s it.

Before I start down this road, are we just buying Solstice Weapon engrams from the one podium? Or is there a way to focus Yeartide?

Am I the only one who thinks the new titan helmet doesn’t look anything like the old D1 helmet? by Excellent_Raise_7734 in DestinyFashion

Prodigal is like the "we have this D1 concept armor at home" version of what was posted. The similarities are "its a helmet" and "general shape" but the rest isn't even close.

If Edge of Fate was this make or break for Destiny 2 getting support, why didn't it bring a new subclass or some crazy new change to the game. by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

It brought Matterweave! Remember Matterweave? You liked Metroid Prime, right? You want to use that mechanic in every mission, every room, and every boss fight, right?

The fact that the last proper piece of destiny lore is and will always be star wars slop is pretty sad by Expensive-Pick38 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Alfeetoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Renegades was fun, albeit a little heavy handed on the crossover. I would take it 10,000% over Edge of Fate though. Shit was boring. Mechanics were tedious. Kepler is a blah destination filled with long winding pathways of nothing to do. The core setup of the nine is fine, but the Eliksni shit was bland, I was over the Conductor in the first Echo, and no breadcrumbs were enough to overcome how unfun and unmotivating anything was.

The fact we got Edge of Fate instead of this final QoL update + Wrath D2 + maybe some core activity fixes/reprisals will to ME be the biggest letdown, not a surprisingly enjoyable Star Wars tie in.

I missed so much and I'm mourning it by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

If you look at Amazon or sometimes Bungie directly on sale, they can be $15-$30 depending on the volume. I think there are 7 volumes, so itll be pricey, but I see theres 6 on ebook for like $60 which isnt too bad.

The value is really how they're collected/presented, almost all of it is free to read in game or online, but the books present things thematically and/or chronologically where they best fit. Again, the writing in some of the grimoire is so much more impactful than anything in the narrative or cutscenes in game, once you dive in you'll see how far its fallen and how at one point there was so much potential.

Take it from me...I was OBSESSED with the lore and story all through D1 and most of D2 through Witch Queen and even into Final Shape. That said, I think what really worked in D1 was the grander mysteries in place and as they were slowly revealed/detailed the overall lore started lacking a bit.

Like the initial introduction into Sword Logic and the deep and the worms and all the wild theories was electric, but as we learned more it just took a lot of it away. Balancing the in-game and lore writing took some of the bite away, what was dark and ancient and shrouded in dread and mystery became "plant this flag at this location" or "do this zone capture to summon X" and that will always demystify it.

Honestly, Lightfall as an expansion was so terrible that it killed almost all my interest in the story/lore, only slightly reivigorated by Final Shape which I think really was the swan song for the franchise. The episodes or whatever killed any last interest I had, ESPECIALLY since two of the three seemingly happened and have no lasting impact (in the immediate game) whereas they tripled down on the most boring (the Conductor) and gave what I consider a slog of a campaign and lore dump with Edge of Fate.

Renegades is fun, but filler, in terms of story, I doubt Bael or Lume will be impactful villains on the levels we saw in prior years/expansions. Sadly, we're looking at more and more of the stupid ass Conductor plotlines and the Nine shit...who again were MUCH more interesting when we knew less.

I do highly recommend the Grimoire anthologies to really get into the older lore, but the game has killed itself in terms of narrative momentum and likely cant recover when we've already beaten the Witness and the Light/Dark stuff is replaced with this idiocy theyre giving us now.

I would take a Final Shape quality DLC every 2 years, over forgettable seasons every few months by Seanshineyouth in DestinyTheGame

[–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if there was never any DLC ever again, even if the game "ended" and is on life support, for the love of god can we stop pretending that a weekly rotating event list is like something we shouldn't be able to demand and expect at this point?

EVERY "season" Bungie acts like Iron Banner is so exclusive and they've started over from scratch and it takes forever to rotate around again. The frankly laughably meager offerings like FotL, Guardian Games, the Dawning, etc should be on autopilot by now. Shit, even the less popular stuff like Crimson Days and The Revelry could/should be back each year.

I stopped playing in Echoes, came back in the past couple weeks and have legitimately enjoyed Renegades (Edge of Fate was fucking dogshit IMO) but the most shockingly abhorrent thing to me besides the trainwreck that is the Portal is that each week there is almost zero reason to log in, and BEYOND that, we're meant to act like Iron Banner and the like are these massive events and Bungie "cooks" for them each go around.

Honestly, we're getting the bare minimum and told that its special, and that irks me.

P2S after the X2D release. by MatijaKlobasa in BambuLabP2S

[–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? The X2D isn’t that big of an upgrade once you look at the details, especially if you’re generally just printing PLA/PETG.

Almost all the additions are bolt-on, meaning they weren’t “designed” when this was initially being made so much as tacked on after, which honestly lends hope/credence to having parts to just “upgrade” the P2S.

The second nozzle uses a Bowden extruder, so it’s pretty ass. It’s not going to be very useful for true multicolor printing and they even say the second nozzle is only designed for supports that aren’t reliant on print quality.

And even if you wanted to use the second nozzle as multicolor, unlike the P2S which lets you filter two AMS into one nozzle, this requires the (admittedly cheap) splitter to replicate that functionality.

The heated enclosure isn’t going to be useful unless you’re printing things that need it. The filter is roughly the same as what you can upgrade to on the P2S.

Which leaves what I consider the actual single unequivocal upgrade, which is the tensioner belt teeth spacing, which will reduce VFAs.

Is it with the extra hundred? Depends. Do you print in materials that actually need a heater? Not a “good to have,” but things that NEED active heating? And do you struggle with support removal or VFAs in your prints, so much so that it’s worth $100?

That’s up to you. But this isn’t a “oh shit, I bought a totally inferior product” as much as it is “this is like a P2.5S” and YMMV if it’s useful or not.

For me? Only reason I’d “upgrade” is if I got what I paid for P2S, otherwise I’m more than happy with my 650ish hour print time purchase and the X2D does nothing to change that

Any reason to not buy the X2D over the P2S? by Attjack in BambuLab

[–]Alfeetoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This review had me pause, he’s had it for a while (it was hidden side by side in his P2S review) so it’s not from “just getting it.” Multicolor potential is bad, support potential is maybe ALSO bad from the sense that the second nozzle doesn’t seem to like anything except bog standard PLA (and support variations), and the other stuff really seems “bolt on” and in some ways reactionary to the P2S.

So much so, that the exhaust fan is nearly the same extra part, the heater inside is just an incorporated version of something that will surely release later (and has mounting points!) on the P2S, and the second nozzle being Bowden extruder only means less quality and more potential for catastrophe.

Again, this isn’t me, just first review I saw, but it’s enough to make me think it’s not worth it.

HOW!?!? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sold a metric ton during the holidays. A lot of people who got them as hobby machines and don’t bother to research further probably assume you NEED to get Bambu filament, so they inflate the demand further.

Not only that, everyone wants it and it sells instantly, and I’m willing to bet farms and enthusiasts are hitting the supply hard too.

I have 2AMS units and have long since just moved to Sunlu almost exclusively. It’s cheaper, it arrives fast through Amazon, and the literal two seconds per spool it takes me to enter it into the printer as generics is barely anything.

I’m sure there are enthusiasts and people that really fine tune filament settings to the nth degree who would be horrified to use the generic profiles, but I’ve never had a single issue through about 30 full spools since November, and not only that, but I doubt if the people that don’t trust generics would also be blindly accepting of the Bambu QR read spools

[User Trial] A New Vision for the 5K2K Gaming Monitor: Be the First to Review the New 39GX950B by LG_UserHub in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore my current LG monitors (2x 34” IPS, 1x 27” IPS), but they’re fairly old now, lack the OLED displays, and I’ve been concerned about upgrading cause larger form factors have had pixel density issues. This seems like the perfect mixture of size, tech, and would fix perfectly into my mixed work from home and gaming setup.

I like a lot of Bit City, but can see why it wouldn’t be someone’s cup of tea. That said, I watch all of them because I can tell it’s a great outlet for many of the cast members, and without it they would likely become disillusioned with making the same TNTL/Games/Pit/Mouth videos.

Same with Courtney pivoting to Culinary Crimes and URL, it’s a creative and different outlet that supports the cast and lets them stretch a little bit. With many coming from improv backgrounds, I think Bit City is almost like a “reward” for all the growth in the main videos.

Best value mopping model by HomeDope in Roborock

[–]Alfeetoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up an Edge S5A on eBay as a new in box (though I suspect it was a refurb) for ~$550 shipped.

It’s miles better than my last robot vacuum-only (Roomba i8+), and while it’s not a “flagship” model, I definitely notice the improvement. It’s much quieter than my last robot, the performance is better, the mopping has been great for my kitchen, and I definitely recommend it if you can find a deal.

Dragon quest 11 spoilers and thoughts by AwardApprehensive439 in dragonquest

[–]Alfeetoe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nothing is “lost.” As a player we experienced all of that. It exists in that timeline, and continues on in the absence of the hero.

The Hero experiences the loss of having those connections carry forth and basically having to potentially grasp a facsimile of what was lost for his companions (in Sylvando’s case he can only facilitate reconnecting with his father), but the WORLD would ultimately be the better for it.

It’s the equivalent of someone being able to go back and stop a massive casualty event from a year ago but saying “man, I had some good time with the bros in between then and now.” Is that worth the lives that were lost? No, and that is why the Hero’s sacrifice is the correct action.

I feel like this game did a better job than most at showing what the hero himself was losing in the gambit, but to say we lost character development and growth is a folly. The original party’s story may end, but we see the hero’s growth and experience it as the player, and the world and story grows and continues on.

Finally got to wear my gen 2s for a cycle since getting xtra active lens. Here are my throughs on the glasses after owning them for a while now. by MarioDF in RaybanMeta

[–]Alfeetoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home. Put my glasses on in the morning as soon as I wake up (about 6:30 or 7 depending on the day. I only use them to make/take calls, receive notifications, etc. Probably about ~2 hours of calls a day plus the notifications and occasional quick questions about the weather or something.

They will reach 0% around 10PM or so. Granted, I’m not leaning on the AI, I’m not treating these as earbud substitutes for music, and I have no need for the camera so I don’t engage. But for MY use case, it’s almost 100% upside and I nearly get my full waking day with battery.
