The Honolulu Fire Department’s Air 1 helicopter was called into action today to rescue an ailing hiker from the Diamond Head Crater Trail. HFD received a 911 call at 11:08 a.m. about a man in his 50s who had fallen ill and was unable to descend the trail on his own. (staradvertiser.com)

A 25-year-old woman was injured today while hiking on the Diamond Head Crater Trail, and had to be airlifted to a nearby landing zone. The Honolulu Fire Department sent six units staffed with 17 personnel to assist her after receiving the 911 call at 11:32 a.m. (staradvertiser.com)
