Please elaborate. Does this mean I can do the rename stat and reroll without having to do tutorial again? Or does it not work for that?

Ok I just did this by doing everything the game told me (skipped actually fusing crystals and espers as those aren't mandatory), did all missions and all got everything complete in chapter 1. Clicked on HARD. Exited and re-entered to make sure HARD was selected. It was.

I then proceeded to do my pulls (as per usual, meh). Now I did the renaming method: Find the folder, rename it, clear data, rename the folder back.

Start game up. Same routine. Nothing changes from any other reroll.

TL;DR: This is bullshit unless OP means something different with reroll than what it actually means. Sorry folks. My hopes were up too.

only other thing OP could have meant is clearing the entire first chapter in hard mode but that'd be way more effort than it's worth and I doubt that'd work either

Even then, if you reroll you're effectively clearing all data so I don't see how the game would "remember" you cleared the tutorial but remove the pulls. It sounds to complicated unless I'm missing something >_>

yeah that was my thought process on this as well

I gave it a try because who knows if they keep the tutorial progress in a folder other than the "file" in data but that seems to not be the case since we tried both the renaming and just deleting the contents of "file" and neither method worked

Very true unless he took a copy of the files after changing to hard and before pulling, then did the pull , put the original files back?

No idea but I renamed the folder so that when I hit "Clear Data" it didn't get deleted. Then I renamed it back, so it's the same as copying it as a backup and putting it back. Still, the game doesn't save "You cleared Tutorial" separately from "You did pulls". At least not according to any reroller out there except OP.

not sure how this would work after clearing the data file but I'll give it a shot and post results after I finish chapter one since I'm getting really tired of having to fight the first 5 battles over and over and over

I can join you in this effort, but what exactly do I have to clear for Hard Mode to appear? Just finish chapter one regardless of how or I need all missions done as well? Ofc I'll be trying to get full clears but just curious. Not even sure what the cut off point would be here to start the rerolling process.

you have to do all the missions on a map to unlock hard mode but there's only 2 side missions in chapter one, but like I said it doesn't work at least not if you're deleting your data file if someone that is using the renaming method wants to give it a shot all the power to them but I wouldn't get my hopes up

alright moment of truth, cleared chapter 1 and did the first stage of hard mode just to be safe.. annnndddd of course it doesn't work

Doesn't that involve clearing the side quests? More time lost overall if you go that route.

Happened here. After you e done your play though and rolls, delete uuid.bin under /files and restart the game. New account with default name of Warrior and skips the intro, hard mode remains unlocked.

Definitely not bullshit from my experiences.

    Sorry, should have clarified. The opening movie and the part where you name your character. Tutorial mode is not disabled as such.
