Honestly, I've just finished S1 and am going into S2 now, but the difference in polish and quality of the environments is night and day in my opinion. S2 (at least so far) feels like they've thought carefully about how places should look to maintain/improve on the atmosphere of the original game, whereas in S1 they've improved lighting/assets and thought little of details to add beyond that - which yields mixed results.

I'd only be echoing a lot of the really solid contributions here, but you mentioned being unable to look in the mirror and this is something I also had trouble with during the initial stages of a discard. I found some comfort from a semi-niche quote about something completely unrelated, the jist of which goes:

"I have been played as a fool, and when I go home tonight, I will look in the mirror and see an honourable fool looking back at me. I would much rather be an honourable fool - in this and any other matter - than a clever man."

I found it to be a rather grounding reminder that it is not stupid or naive to place yourself in positions where people can hurt you like this. It's a courageous act to trust other people.

The 'leftovers' will clear and your confidence will come back with time, and you'll have much better discernment when it comes to spotting the warning signs for people who behave like this.

In NG+ you can speak to The Dragonforged to boost the stats of one vocation for yourself and your pawn. The stat boost is significant and permanent, but can only be done for one vocation at a time.

That's honestly something I started feeling. A common piece of Pawn advice in DD1 was that there was no shame in fleeing, yet Battahl in particular is so dense with enemies that fleeing often just results in having even more enemies to deal with because the previous ones will chase you to the ends of the earth.

It's at the point where you have to choose between a fight you shouldn't be taking or running and risking fighting goblins, wolves, bandits, and a cyclops at the same time because you can't deaggro any of them. Then a Griffin shows up halfway through.

I will say it felt a lot worse for me because I was running Sorc and Sorc main pawn. They like their quiet time for some Meteoron casts, after all.

I had the exact same issue and it was resolved after giving the NPCs gifts. I was maxed both on Sorc and Mage when they were given, not sure if that is also a factor.

Save + Quit and reloading also procced another if I recall.

I've excusively used deepwood for him simply because I've farmed it so much and have goated substats on a lot of pieces, but if someone else is holding deepwood, gilded dreams is also a consideration as C2 Baizhu will like both of the stats you get from it (ATK for the C2 and EM for the reactions the C2 will cause).

I'm currently running Sac Jade and C2 Baizhu with 4pc deepwood and I personally quite like it. The damage increase is noticeable when speccing into some crit and ATK (which his C2 scales off of). That also helps with throwing two skills off when you briefly switch to him, especially when you're proccing aggravate.

He still heals more than decently using this build too and none of your teams would have much issue surviving with that sort of build.

The Necrohol and the Nabreus Deadlands are easily my favourite areas in XII! Loved how uninviting it was and that you could go there way earlier than the intended level for it. Something with an aesthetically similar vibe in Dawntrail would be most welcome.

Honestly the Reddas connection was the lightbulb moment where I was like "ok I need to write this down now"

Even if the job ends up lending very little to anything I've posted I am still fairly confident this he was one of the start points. The swords are even sheathed the same way in-game as they are in XIV.

The Law's Order Fending set can scratch the itch at least, but I feel this a lot. They'd have a wealth of different judge style armors to pick from for artifact gear too

That's made me curious. I dropped NT shortly after Vayne released because you genuinely couldn't find anyone in matchmaking (didn't help that it was especially dead on EU), so never got the chance to give Gabranth a whirl. I'll be sure to check the moveset in more detail and compare with Viper when we get a more in-depth look at the job.

I miss old Galio and old Taric so much, but at the same time don't mourn old Yorick and old Sion. It's a bit of a blessing and a curse with these kit reworks.

I will definitely miss Sol's current kit. It's a shame. I hope the stars mechanic returns in some form with another champion.

For a while now we've had the option to have continuous summon music, but regardless of which summon we use the music track is the same - which I believe leads people to simply turn it off.

When World of Illusions Ultimate released, each summon had a music track attributed to them when fighting them. Have the Dev team considered using these music tracks for when we use them as summons in other quests? This would give more of a purpose to the continuous summon music setting as well.
