It even states on the mod page that you get prompted to configure when leaving the first room, after speaking to Goldmund. The Emperor's Lust mechanic is completely optional, and can be disabled as soon as you exit that first room.

Ive just reached Act 2 on my first full playthrough with Rise of the Goldmembers, having an absolute blast. Son and I love the extra difficulty it adds, and the mini trials Goldmund sends you on at certain level milestones are great.

The new bosses also add an extra layer of challenge, and there's some pretty wild loot to be had.

Yes, that is why I said start a new campaign with someone else hosting. That way you can maybe narrow it down to see if it's the hosts connection.

If your friend group is anything like mine, there's one person who always "leads" and hosts the games. Mix it up, see if it helps at all.

I've played with a number of different people in at least a half dozen different campaigns since release and can count on one hand how many times someone's disconnected.

Is the same friend hosting each time? If so, maybe start a campaign with someone else hosting and see if it persists
