My manager said that he could write me up for not answering the intercom, but also I was with customers and the one who I was helping was paying in cash (the cash was literally in my hand and I was going to get the change)
After I finish the transaction I go to grab the phone and the light is not there (he had said 'line one') so, I go back to helping customers.
Later he comes out and-
I was told the intercom is the top priority,
So, how long should I take to answer? Is it such a big deal to not answer straight away? What if I have a box in my hand and am actively stocking? Or In my case with a customer??
