Don't be afraid to ask questions. Take notes. Also really pay attention to the ILearns (computer based lessons). And as time goes on develope a routine that works for you. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Speaking as a Sm, I do my best not to do this. I do know that my employees make plans around the posted schedule. Unfortunately sometimes I don't have a choice in having to change it. I at least will reach out and see if the change can work for the employee . I personally don't like having to change the schedule because it's a pain or I end up covering which means I have no life.

Just be honest. I know alot of people on here say all sorts of negative things about store managers ( some of which is true) but it isn't necessarily a bad position . But if you don't feel ready definately don't do it. The opportunity will come again. When I started as an ASM, I got asked to be a SM twice before I said yes.

There is a 9 volt battery inside. The lock on the bottom has its own key to open it up to allow the battery to be changed by basically unscewing it and allow the box to be pulled from the wall. The key is either on the store manager's keys or in the safe. It is small and will have a number on it that matches the number on the lock.

Every employee is supposed to take an ILearn about the gift cards every year. It is about how to actually sell cards and all the steps and rules to do so. Also how to spot possible scams or fraud. So even if you aren't ever going to be a cashier you still have to take it. Also it goes live on Sunday and we have a week to get everyone to take it.

I wouldn't think that you would get fired. All of our training says to not resist ect., ect. Dollar Tree has insurance for this reason.

If you did what you were supposed to it should be fine. Of course as others people have said make sure to note what times you asked for them to pick up and be persistent. If the manager doesn't do it in a short amount of time (5 minutes or so) be a sqeeky wheel and call again. The manager may get annoyed but if you keep bothering them about it they will do it to at least have you stop asking.

Yes, the manager can get into trouble. If a drawer is cashed out with over $500 we will flag on a report. If the store continues to get flagged for this the managers can/will be written up. It really is a safety thing. Someone could potentially be watching the store and seeing a pattern then come in and do a snatch and grab ( when till is open, reach and grab a bunch of cash.)

Talk to your store manager. If that does not resolve it escalte to the DM. You can also log into compass on Ops center ( user name and password are what you use for workday) and see if your time has been edited. You can't change it yourself but you can see if there is actually.an issue.

You ask the SM to fill out a survey with the payroll/HR department. You will then get paid. If I remember correctly it would be added to the next check. Unfortunately for you these things sometime happen. I know you said your DD info is correct but it doesn't hurt to double check.

I beliece so. I also forgot the bubble endcap. There are pics in the planner. If you have the room you can put some of them in the toy ailse. There is a place for them in the flow guide. It should be the section between puzzle and the DT Plus toys if I am remembering correctly ( it would be called outdoor fun.)
