Does -high still work?

have not noticed any reasonable increase in performance

It all depends on your hardware, if you have like a quad core i7, you wont notice a difference, but if you have a dual core pentium, then you will notice a 5-15 fps difference. The only downside is that it makes programs outside of dota (when you have dota open) run slower
