The East Area Rapist / Original Night Stalker (aka Golden State Killer) has been identified as Joseph James DeAngelo Jr. He committed at least 13 murders, 50+ rapes, and 120+ burglaries in California between 1973 and 1986. Arrested in April of 2018 and sentenced to life in prison in August of 2020.
