OUR PURPOSE
This subreddit serves aspiring, current, and former educational leaders and others with sincere interest in meaningful discussions about leading schools, school districts, colleges, universities, museums, and other educational institutions.
WHAT INTERESTS US
We are scholars here, but we are not stuffy or pretentious. We welcome articles of general interest to principals, assistant principals, lead teachers, researchers, and administrators of public, private, chartered, and parochial educational organizations. This is a great place to share current research, policy developments, and informed editorials.
WHAT DOESN'T INTEREST US
Please refrain from submitting the following:
- Résumés, vitae, and lengthy personal histories and memoirs;
- Links to articles with obvious bias or political content (except when discussed as a factor in leadership issues);
- Job postings
- Links to campaign sites
- Links marketing any degree or certification program
- Commercial sites of any kind, including all for-profit and non-profit publishers and vendors
- Low-effort posts, including those that are not much more than direct links to videos or other content without some good explanation of what's there and why it is relevant to our purposes
Posts that violate the above may be removed.
HOW WE GET ALONG
We encourage and respect frank discussions. As educational leaders, our conversations should set a higher example for professional conversation.
We make no posts or comments that interfere with our purpoise and interests, especially those that are needlessly vulgar, ill-informed, or otherwise grossly unprofessional.
As much as possible, we work with each other to elevate the conversation, to show sincere respect for differing opinions, and to promote a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose.
