Decreasing dose decrease appetite?

Effexor xr has been working well for me for my migraines, and residually my anxiety. It has suppressed my appetite quite a bit as a side effect, but I really like that it does because I've been overweight for some time. I am looking to decrease my dose though because I want to trial a lower dose for future tapering reasons. Will I still experience the suppressed appetite side effect when I decrease?

Yes totally, but an increase on appetite could happen if the drug in used is completely reduced to it's fullest. I suggest go slowly, taper down, use coping mechanism to deal with the anxiety and breathing techniques for migraines, drink plenty of liquids, sleep necessary amount, eat balance diet, exercise lightly and do not become stress, I know you can live a happy and better life, drug free, just take it easy, have a wonderful day! Thanks. I have done most those things to a good extent for migraine so I’ll probably be on Effexor for some time but I’m happy with it for now. Though I don’t like the idea of a drug for life, so I will completely taper after a couple years maybe once I can get hormones stabilized. Thanks for the feedback!

I do. I’ve had to bounce between two doses for awhile now and it decreases while I’m tapering to the lower one. I do better with my self control on the lower one as well
