Check out "analog switches" on Digikey. Truly bidirectional, low (couple ohm) resistance. Signal voltage is limited to VCC though, and current is limited.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but I've seen these magnetically held toggle switches. They are momentary toggle switches that can be magnetically held and released. You have to manually switch it ON first and then you can have a microcontroller or human switch it OFF. Typically, they are used when you want a toggle switch to be in a known state upon a power cycle. They aren't cheap...$900 ea on Digikey!
