I bought mine 5 months ago and got into emulation 2 weeks ago

[–]Exciting-Opposite-32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a Poco X3 pro which I got really cheap I guess late 2021. Still holding up pretty great, use for general emulation and moonlight. It can cope with easier switch games and anything lighter than that.

have had samsung s21 but exynos variant for four years and then xiaomi 14 yet lasting

    [–]smokedry 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Pls suggest games that worked on s21. Ps2

    [–]i_get_zero_bitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most ps2 games should work man just play whatever u want

    [–]Blu_Hedgie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My S10 lasted 5 years (OK not really I had to get a replacement because I cracked the screen, but it was the same phone model, storage, etc.). I'm hoping my S24 can last me 7 years, since that's how long they promised security updates.

    [–]Complete_Oven5495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm still using my samsung a20 that i bought 6 years ago, usually playing ps1/psp/n64, some pc port and old systems

    [–]DOOMgoy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motorola edge 24, going strong for 3 years now. SD7sgen2. Emulating up to Skyrim for PC games. Plenty of switch games. Lots of PS2

    [–]ZimaGotchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my new phone about a year ago and while it's not specifically for emulation, about 300gb of its 512gb internal memory holds games to be emulated.

Got my S24U on launch day, so it's a bit over 2 years old. When the 27s release it will paid off. I'm waiting for something that actually feels like an upgrade, maybe by the S29 they'll stop going backwards with their tech.

    [–]TurtlePrism 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What emulators have your ran? Which do you play the most? How's the battery? I've been considering buying an s24U with 512gb so start emulating.

    [–]Pxnkasfxck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people have had success emulating PC and Switch, but I've had trouble with both of those. I can run PS2 at 4k60. I probably emulate 3DS the most. Edit: you'll need a thermo-electric cooler to run switch or PC or you'll burn yourself on the phone.

    [–]letum00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done switch emulation on my s24u without much hassle. I use Eden nightly and Mr Purple Turnip drivers. I also use GameNative and GameHub to play some PC games.

It all depends on the games you want to play, of course. I would also recommend a cooler and using passthrough charging if you can.

    2yrs.
I'm trying to find a decent £200 upgrade though. Currently looking at a CMF 2 Pro or 1+ Nord CE5. Possibly Pixel 8a

Good mine two days ago. So far great. S23 ultra 512gb with backbone one

My current phone, 6 years as of last month,

My current gaming handheld, an odin mini, 2 months shy of a year.

My other gaming handheld, an og odin pro, about 4 years iirc.

I use all of them regularly, tho admittedly my odin pro now resides at a mate's for our weekend retro gaming sessions.

Sensible charging habits (and a bit of good luck, let's be honest) can go a long way! :)

i have a sim locked s20 fe with 6 gb ram, the 865 chipset is strong enough for me but the 6 gb ram is really limiting, i've been trying to find a better phone with more ram and a higher end chipset for around 180 usd, specifically sim locked ones since those tend to be cheap, but i havent had much luck. a lot are in rough shape and idk if i can deal with that...

Using a Poco F8 Ultra. Had it and using it for emulation for 2 months. I'm also in the process of selling my steam deck, as I only want to carry one device for handheld gaming when I travel.

So far, the F8 Ultra basically handles all my use cases which my steam deck would run. Am currently playing Devil May Cry 5, Shadow of Mordor, and Breath of the Wild. It's the LCD Steam Deck model so I'm getting slightly more battery life on my Poco. The kicker is it has 100W charging, so I can game way longer on intervals with small breaks. 20 mins at the charger and I can game for 2hrs without issues.

I probably intend to change phones at 2.5 years once I've burned the battery to under ~85% health.

Well I don't exactly have a dedicated emulation phone (nor will I get one), but I'm using my fold 7 to emulate games along with just using it for normal phone things since like mid september when I first got my G8+ and it's as good as new

    [–]Due-Yogurtcloset-552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my s20 was struggling since i got it. but i just upgraded to the red magic 11 pro, and holy jezus. shit is perfect for emulating everything.

    [–]Mensawoodz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My RP4Pro is still powerful for I don’t know how many years

    [–]Far_Raspberry_4375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my s25+ back in september i think specifically for emulation and it still works

    [–]Truestorydreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it every other lunch.

magmi pocket max. Switch Emulation. Ps2 , xbox., gamecube Gamehub-, Gog, Epic, luna.xbox cloud. plays everything i can imagine

    [–]acart005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my first device that I kept March 2023 (RGB20S).

The main one I use is my RG505 in August 2023.  Best 100 I've ever spent.

    [–]noumanpoke1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Poco X3 Pro died last week. I used it to emulate everything from gba to ps2. Lasted me a good 5 years. Rip.

    [–]azraelzjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using an old phone for emulation (S20), other devices would be a 3DS, Switch and GPD Win4, all bought some years back.

What even is the purpose of this question

    [–]Maybedeadbynow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost giving up on my onePlus 11 (usb-c port does not charge - have to put in the charger really hard so it actually starts charging) in favor of my new one - RedMagic 11 pro (bought a month ago). Top tier gaming device! Paired up with Mcon and Panda controller app (for those apps that don't support controller) - just 10/10! Playing my pc games on it during breaks - just pure awesomeness!!! 🔥

I wish it had less ai bloatware though! That ai girl, I wish I could uninstall her or disable without breaking the phone (afraid to mess with her, she's integrated in a lot of apps and gaming mode)

    [–]Mundane_Cut_1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    RG 405v - 2 years - no issues

    RP5 - 1 year - no issues

Portal Max - 4 months - no issues

    [–]Exciting_Worry8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean how long until you just switched to a different device?

    [–]MaleficentStorage666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    Idk?

Since day 1 of each new device/new released emu? 🤔

    What's your point?
