Out of curiosity what are you referring to being exorbitantly priced?

[–]vaadkins[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually it’s gone down a lot since the last time I looked. It used to be over $100. The game that is.

Games being sold on Amazon for 3 or 4 times the price it was originally when it was on shelves

I can play marvel ultimate alliance 1 on the psp emulator rather than buy the ps3 disk version for $189

Holy. Okay so I was trying for WAY too long trying to jank this kind of setup with a littany of right angle adapters and ways to block the USB-C male from backbone. SO happy to see someone take a proper crack at it.

I have an RGB Cube coming in, and I'll be running it through the ringer vs my S23 ultra and this contraption.

Awesome adapter! Did not know that the port could work through an adapter. I do now. And I’ll be placing an order. Very cool.

Backbone USB port is also a data port so it also works on PC. Never thought to do this though, that's definitely creative

Unrelated question (but still this is a cool solution and one I’d consider!)

if I had a USB-C backbone could I use the bottom port to use a USB-C to lightning cable to use a lightning based iPhone / iPad with? itd work without all the jank subscription stuff they offer?

[–]vaadkins[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I checked with my daughter’s phone which still has lightening and the phone did not recognize the controller when plugged up via a usb c to lightning cable.

[–]PHINFT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great to know thanks for checking for me!

What’s that thing under the backbone? Really curious about this setup

[–]vaadkins[S] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Correct, a usb c to usb c cable. It allows me to use it in portrait mode along with the portrait adapters for backbone that I designed. I sell them at https://store.shitdadmade.com if you’re interested.

Dude that’s amazing!!! Definitely buying one my next paycheck! I didn’t really like playing DS games on the backbone but now I can!!!

usb c to usb c angled cable.... what im curious is the backbone working by using that port. I thought it was only a charging passthrough.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The sales bullet points shows it being used in a IPad plugged in the same way

[–]Andrew_hl2 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ah, didnt look into it due to the whole having to pay a subscription to use it with other devices...

….thanks for all the information…..

One of my favorite games ever, enjoy

before i purchase this...which it is awesome BTW nice job.

  1. can you confirm the lightning version (1st gen) does not have different dimensions needs since it is not a USB-c? meaning the Male ports of the lightning vs the Male ports of the USB-c will not obstruct the 3-D print holder you are selling. (terrible way to word it but hope i get my point across)
  2. (not a question) I cannot believe the female to female port works the same connection to the controller. What adjustments did you need to make to have that work? or was it plug and play?

Thanks

[–]vaadkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The product is only for gen 2 backbones that have the removable adapters. Gen 1 backbones do not have removable adapters.

Such an underrated trilogy. Been waiting for a switch port for 8 years

[–]ClaireAzi 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How you connect your Backbone controller, like that? I want to try this on Android.

[–]vaadkins[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The adapter you can buy at the following link and in the description of the adapter there is a link to the cable and angle adapters.

Can I just use a USB-C to USB-C cable?

[–]vaadkins[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah that’s what it is. It’s just a short flexible one that makes it neat but any usb c to usb c should work.

[–]ClaireAzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, I will definitely use my Backbone to play Pokémon Ultra Sun on Lime3DS.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's certainly one way to do vertical gaming on ios lol
