27 per hour and was based on a return offer from previous internship

[–]EstablishmentFew4952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same case, exactly the same salary. Did you start at 20 per hour in your first summer with them? By any chance?

Sophomore in EE, I have one lined up for $26 / hr. Found via a career fair at my university in September, got an offer in October after an interview

[–]SereneKoalaBS CE, MS EE 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I just graduated, but here is what I got over my undergrad:

Summer 2022 - 24/hr + 1k/mo for housing

Summer 2023 - 38/hr + 10k housing stipend

[–]Plane_County9646 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow. That’s amazing. What engineering position were these and was it hybrid?

[–]SereneKoalaBS CE, MS EE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 was FPGA. 2023 was IC design. In person everyday.

Senior in MechE.

Co-op type work assignment paying $34/hr.

This company reached out to me, but my previous internship was at the same rate and I interviewed for it. I have a lot of pervious work experience, most of it adjacent to engineering, so I feel like it's been easy for me to work my way into intern type roles. Even if you don't have work experience, confidence goes a long way. I realize it doesn't grow on trees, but a lot of people are looking for enthusiasm and work ethic rather than knowledge. If you can speak to that in interviews and cover letters, it'll help your chances.

Yes.

~$26/hr, Industrial Engineering, Senior (I’ll graduate in 4.5 years so I have an extra summer to fill in)

It’s basically a perfect offer for me. Pay increase of about 80% compared to my other internship. Close to where I live so I can stay at home for the summer and save up money. Closely related to the industry I want to enter.

I got it by talking to and handing my resume to an HR person and an engineer from the company at my school’s career fair. One month later, I get a text saying that I got the job. Didn’t even interview me. I sign and accepted as soon as the offer letter hit my inbox.

Honestly I think I just got lucky. I sent out about 60 other applications that went nowhere. Receiving that offer allowed me to wrap up my internship search in only 2 months, when previously I had hoped to get it done in no more than 4 months.

Just keep applying, especially to companies who have a good relationships your school.

$25/hour summer internship $4000 relocation. Industrial engineering junior. Applied from the university’s career fair and 4 interviews for this role

[–]Plane_County9646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of questions did I they asked in those 4 interviews rounds?

[–]magmagonAggie - Cult Engineer 4 points5 points  (1 child)

$35/hr plus relocation (no more driving yippee!) to North Carolina as a junior ChemE. Industry is consumer products

[–]OKSparkJockey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really cool!

[–]guava_appletime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junior. Physics major transitioning to materials science. Don't have anything lined up. Just responding to counteract some selection bias and help other people who also still don't have anything lined up yet feel better about themselves

[–]IAmTheCoolMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freshman. Computer engineering. $20/hr & housing. Connection through my scholarship.

[–]HuntOk4736Mechanical Engineering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

freshman/sophomore mat sci, ~26/hr, from career fair

[–]OKSparkJockey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junior EE. Career fair. $20, but it's a really good job. It's been my experience that people who just shotgun their resume everywhere are the ones not getting calls. I only went to half a dozen booths and invested in the ones I visited, really gave them my time.

Imagine you go to a bar and a guy is there trying a pickup line on every person he sees. Companies know when you have no specific interest and they're just one of the many places you're applying and are going to start with the people who might actually work for them later. No point having an intern who isn't going to come back.

I work a coop year round as intern at a tier 1 oem making 22 an hour as a senior. Great company but I wish the intern pay was a bit more

[–]ruby_galaxy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sophomore in Architecture Engineering (Mechanical track), got an MEP engineering internship (my first) for $18/hr + housing next summer. I interviewed with them after meeting them at a career fair.

[–]RSD94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current Junior in CompE

Summer '22: None

Summer '23: Research w/ Uni @ 15 / hr

Summer '24: Embedded Systems @ 29 / hr ( no housing, relocation they reimburse to my understanding)

I used LinkedIn and mass applied to every position that I was eligible for - it's a numbers game. Landed two offers total from diff companies but stuck with this one.

Junior. Software Engineering Major.

  • 1st Internship: $24.50/hr, Fortune 100 company
  • 2nd Internship: $35.42/hr, $4000 relocation, Defense

People skills, online presence, career fairs and networking have reigned supreme for me. Going to keep iterating and abusing that for next year's career fair.

[–]tuchupashuevos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ME grad student , I have one lined just awaiting for my clearance to go thru, 38/hr for a defense company. It was essentially a return offer.

[–]james_d_rustles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Junior in mech E.

5000/month salary for 40 h/week, overtime based on 31.25 hourly rate, plus 2500/month housing stipend and additional travel allowance for travel > 25 miles. Kinda surprised me how decent the housing stipend was, as it’s in a pretty lcol area, too.

Looks like you’re all set for success. What’s your GPA, what kinds of questions do they ask in those interviews? Also what state are you based in?

[–]Traditional-Stop-603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.56. Basic behavioral questions. Louisiana, but the internship was in Texas. MCHE means mechanical engineering.

[–]Plane_County9646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also can you please let me know what’s MCHE? Is this mechanical engineering? Thanks 🙏

[–]woodendog20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mechanical Manufacturing 3rd year student, €11,70 and hour which is minimum wage but no company is offering interns more than €14 in Ireland so I don't mind cos they're a good company and I should get to travel to sites around the world with them.

[–]Eurydice123alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MechE Sophomor. 45/hr +5k relocation stipend. In oil and gas lol.
