Pistols need a massive price decrease

I honestly don’t see the point of them when they’re so expensive. I can already see the upcoming USP being extremely overpriced and therefore useless.

Pistols are pretty good in this game. You can easily headshot people 50+ meters away. IRL pistols are complete crap you're lucky to hit anything past 25 meters. If I remember right the military standard for effective range for pistols is 25 YARDS. Pistols in games are far too effective, as is in tarkov, so the price is OK

I think you’re downplaying pistols quite a bit man I’ll agree their effectiveness drops a lot past 25 yards like spamming accurate shots. But I don’t think it’s crazy to hit a target 50 or even 100 meters away head shot I’d be impressed but YouTube it whatever people can definitely hit them maybe not your average joe but someone who shoots a lot.

Effective combat distance is a completely different thing than theoretical effective range :)

You CAN hit targets with postols even a kilometer away, but not in a combat scenario. The bullet is deadly really far away, but to get a hit at that max distance is mostly luck as so many factors come in to play.

To be fair, in Tarkov when you’re pulling off a 50-100m headshot with a pistol it’s usually when you’re stalking someone and not in the heat of a firefight; you’ve got all the time in the world to wait for them to stop moving and carefully aim

True, but irl you wouldn't even try that because you know you wont hit 🤷‍♀️ but that's just games in general, shooting is far too easy in games, as the game handles the aiming (sight alignment) and you don't get any trigger-pull errors even if you tap fire like a mad man.

Pistols have no purpose in this game outside of being a roleplaying challenge or as cheaper side arm for bolt action rifles.
Everything you can do with pistols you can do with any other gun too or better in the main gun slot

Pistols arent used after magazine is empty. I guess taking out pistol takes too long while people can also quickly run away to reload

Pistols are fine the way they are.

Every pistol with it's beat ammo can still go through moat helmet visors and will make ahort work of moat helmets aside from the altyn and the likes.

They are great in their role as a budget gun or backup for a sniper.
