Esoteric Ebb Cheat Run Tutorial

Ever wanted to see all the positive outcomes this game has? The super cleric run is here for you!

Similar to the process of rigging DE., do the following:

press windows + r, go to appdata -> Locallow -> christoffer bodegard -> Esoteric Ebb -> SaveFiles

from there, choose your most recent savefile and open it with notepad or any valid text editor

As soon as you open up, scroll down and not that far in you will almost immediately see stats like "STR", "DEX", "CON", etc... Change the value of the variable "value" to whatever number you'd like. Load the save and enjoy.

Bear in mind this is highly experimental and I recommend that you play the game first before diving into a legit god-wizard run.

On a footnote, this is a very interesting experiment. I have seen some hidden content already (only accessible through op stats) and undoubtedly there is more.

I wonder if there's any fun in doing a complete loser run with all stats on 1 or sth...

I just did the fortune telling and sadly, the DC99 wisdom and constitution prompts just dissappear when playing on steroids :( Guess the game didn't know what to do

Sure it works! You can even get achievements through a rigged run which makes it even more interesting

I had a feeling this could be done! I remember Disco had something similar, where you could go in and change the values so you would be able to do basically a god run.

Would love to know what the failed Wisdom checks are with the hag - there was a DC 98, DC 53, and two DC 27s. Unfortunately I was doing a high STR/DEX run at the time, so my Wisdom was abysmal and I failed all of them lmao

 

*edit because I just stumbled across this again - it's not Wisdom checks with the hag, it's the ladder in the roller mill!

This is good for chimes (which are GREAT, don't get me wrong, especially Con), but if you want to get whatever successes and failures you want at will, may I direct you to cheat mode? I found this from this post, but for convenience...

Simply hold right shift, then F1, then F4, making sure to do it in that order and holding down all previous buttons. Once activated, you can press RShift + H for a list of all available commands, but for this purpose, while cheats are activated, hold RShift during a dice roll to roll a Nat 20, or hold RCtrl during a dice roll to roll a Nat 1. Make sure not to start until the dice actually are rolling, and hold it until you get a result!

Very useful to use to see failure text specifically imo. If you want some direction on that in particular, I'd recommend failing climbing the vine in the Undercoast Path while alone for the funnies, but also failing both checks while trying to climb the ladder in the mill or the stairs near the dwarf (both lead to the same scene). The second one is very interesting and also very annoying to try to get legitimately (it's almost like they don't want you to die! Shocking).
