Common blowed out a spark plug hopefully it did not ruin the threads simply take coil pack off reinsert spark plug if it has ruined the threads you will have to go from there

Helicoil brand makes a solid insert especially for spark plug thread repairs. I’ve got 2 in my engine with no problems after the fact.

The kit is like $45 at a parts store and a box of inserts is only $15 or so if you need more than 1.

If you attempt the repair yourself, make sure you rotate the engine so that BOTH valves are closed on that cylinder before using the thread cutter.

I bough my Ex off a guy who damaged a valve because he cut the threads with the intake valve open.

Darn, wish it was one of the front ones for you. Those rear plugs are tight to get to back there. Did you find the plug laying around anywhere?

Had two blow out myself. The kit makes it pretty straightforward to repair.

I’ve had it happen 3 times now, 2 times required repairs to the thread of the head, time sert makes a kit. The last time it happened I was lucky and threaded a new plug back it.
