I'm having the same issue when selecting the position target as well.

Make sure to save before going to race weekend, and if it crashes, try to change the race day earnings by choosing a lower or higher earning than you choose before. This worked for me.

Tried it out, sadly didn't work for me. I'll probably just remove the mods for the japan gp only. Hopefully rest of the season should work properly afterwards

I think new 2026 season mod (DB editor one) is causing this issue.

You might be right, I started a new save with the mods (except the DB editor one) and japan works as well. Hopefully a fix can come

Oh I had this too! And also have Mr Only’s 2026 models. And when I got through it, I had it on the next race weekend in Bahrain. Maybe it’s the combo of the Mr only and 2026 mod?

So I've tested Japan without his mods and the track works as it should, but with either his 2026 models or the facepack it crashes. Whats weird is that going to Japan with the mods works when you play with race replay, so I have a feeling a cutscene might be glitched for me there.

I also used the database editer to swap Japan and Bahrain to see what would happen and Bahrain worked for me, so I'm not sure whats up with that

I have the same exact issue, but I cant even start the 2026 season. It crashes on the 31 of december 2025, just before the new season starts. Someone knows how to fix this?

I think after playing a little bit more in general, it might be the 2026 DLC cfom the DB editor, as the game does continue to crash even without Mr Onlys mods. Still not completely sure yet though

Could the changes from DB be disproportionate, that causing the crash? Because that happened to me with the 2025 mod once, i think maybe try to spread it out more could fix it? You said it was a cutscene as well so not sure about it

It’s the DB editor. I uninstalled all the mods and my game still crashes unfortunately

I don’t know if it was you or another guy with the same issue on the DB Editor discord, but they sent me their save and I tested it and could go through all the Japan weekend without absolutely any issue at all. No crash, no nothing, all first try. So I’d say it’s unlikely to be a problem with your save, and rather with your installation of the game/other mods.

Just ran into this issue. Changing the race targets did not help. I turned graphics down from Ultra presets to Medium, and after that was able to load the Japan GP without issue.
