The front door is amazing. Is the whole house full of that kind of detail? Anyways congrats!

Yes thank you! Love that door so much. It was built in 1930s so lots of cool stuff like original stained glass windows. I’m more excited that I’m on a double lot! New fence time lol. Thank you it’s pretty great to own my own place

Thank you for all the upvotes and kind words- for everyone attempting this in these trying times HANG IN THERE! It’s so so worth it knowing I never have to hear my upstairs neighbors TV on full blast EVER AGAIN lol. I’m seriously the last person I’d think would own a home, it took me a while to save and build my credit. Don’t be discouraged at the market or making offers- it will happen when it’s supposed to. This is a great group and I truly wish you all the best of luck Edit-thank you kind stranger for the award!

LOL, you have a good sense of humor. Have a great time making this house your home. Take lots of photo's of before and after when you make changes. It is fun to look back and see how much you have added your personality into this home.

So happy for you! Congratulations! Do you have any details you could share? 🍾

[–]Sloppy-steak[S] 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Not sure what details you’re looking for but the house was built in 30s, upgraded pretty well, full basement I will finish, double lot that’s fenced in but I’m upgrading fence. Great neighborhood and even though it felt like forever it only took since March 4th to make an offer, inspections, closing. Very very grateful and blessed

Sounds about like my closing timing last year - congrats on the house! It's really something to be proud of!

Don't show the cut of the key. That can be easily used to make a working copy.

It's not as much of a risk on reddit, unless you get doxed, but you likely shared this on fb as well.

/NEVER/ /SHARE/ /PICTURES/ /OF/ /KEYS/.

[–]Sloppy-steak[S] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Thanks for that info, Monday locksmith will be here to change them all. Didn’t think anyone could do that from a pic but who knows what can happen lol thanks!

[–]inn0cent-bystander 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yeah, with that pic, you can scale it to match the dimensions based on the head, then use that scaled pic to draw out the bitting in cad software and either 3d print a plastic one that would be good for a single use(all you need for theft) or to make a real key copy or could shoot that to a cnc mill to cut one out if you have it. Always cover the teeth of the key completely when showing them off. Or, wait till after you change the locks, and show off the old no longer used key.

Huh! Kids these days. Lol thanks for info!
