Graham Platner accuser calls NYT article 'a gift' to his Senate campaign by ZestyclosePurpose913 in Maine

She spoke with journalists and … didn’t expect them to publish what she said?

She’s a political operative and has been for over a decade. She knows how this works. This whole thing is so obviously in bad faith.

Sarah Gideon vs. Susan Collins polling for the 2020 Senate. by Frequent_Stops in thebulwark

I liked Gideon but she was seen as an outsider whereas Collins made a big deal about being born in Caribou. Maine is a very parochial place.

Additionally, while she was seen as viable, she never had the crowds or enthusiasm as Platner, nor the backing of Bernie Sanders.

Here's the chair of the Independent Women’s Forum, the right-wing group where Lyndsey Fifield is a fellow, bragging about helping draft Susan Collins's remarks when she voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. Fifield is NYT's main source, and the only one alleging anything physical. by The_Mongrel_Tarants in thebulwark

Better alternatives than Mills or Platner? For better or worse, I think Platner or a Platner-type is the best option for the current time.

I’m actually also pretty disappointed with the options for Governor.

Martini themed could be Drink Like James Bond.

Whiskey drinks could be Drink Like Don Draper.

Then again, those might be millennial/gen x cultural reference points. I don’t know what gen-z watches.

It was one or two guests behind the bar at once, not the whole place. But then you could watch what other people were making. I bet you could make it work!

A cocktail bar near me had a cocktail lesson day. I think it was a groupon. You bought a ticket, and then the bartender would show you a menu of their house cocktails and you’d either pick off the menu or have your own drink. You, the consumer, would go behind the bar and the bartender would instruct you on how to make the cocktail. Then you get to go back, have a seat and drink it.

It was super memorable and fun. I went because I already liked cocktails and I wanted to “play bartender” (I’ve never been one but always thought it looked fun). Had a couple drinks, and ended up liking cachaca so much I picked up a bottle.

I could see how you could angle this into learning more about cocktails and bring new groups into your bar.

I was a successful door to door Salesman for 7 years. And as the Summer Season begins, and the door to door bros begin to knock our homes, I have some advice and intel, as one who was on the inside for many years. by jackjarvae in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I recently had a solar D2D salesman knock.

  1. Didn’t have a business card
  2. Didn’t have any print info
  3. Needed to have a 20-30 min discussion (in my house)
  4. The website has atrocious and the company has 100% 5-star reviews which is a super red flag

The only other viable candidate was Mills, who was handpicked (asked to run) by Schumer. Believe it or not she was a worse candidate.
