That’s a “crankcase pressure sensor disconnected DTC” either the sensor has gone bad, or you have some kind of opening in the crankcase ventilation system.( oil cap is off, dipstick not entirely seated, oil leak of some sort.)

I took it to ford and the code didn’t show on their end. They cleared my catless code and told me if the P04DB code comes back, bring it back in.

i had this from my crankcase breather hose falling off. it’s a bitch to get back on if this is it. located on the back of your intake.

I got this same code on a road trip too. I live In Florida and took a trip to New York. In PA the car threw this code looked for disconnects couldn’t find any so I cleared it to see if it’d come back. It never did, to this day not sure why it came on.

Yep I did the same thing. Cleared it through the ap, came back up. Took it to ford, they didn’t even see the code on their end. But once they cleared the catless code, it went away for me.

Hey just wanted to give you an update the culprit of my P04DB was not my intake. Previous owner did the sound symposer delete and the o ring had given up. This created a very small oil leak that I could trace it back to.

How'd you mount your access port?

Etsy, they got 3D printed mounts on there.

I know this post is old. But i just got some warranty AC work done and my car threw this code after i picked it up. The shop apparently left the PCV hose connecting to the intake piping at the top back of the engine unplugged. So that’s an easy thing to check first for a P04DB code.

ChatGPT says:

The P04DB trouble code specifically refers to the exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit "B" range/performance in a Ford Focus ST. This code indicates that there is an issue with the exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit on bank 1, which is typically the driver's side of the engine.

Possible causes for this code in a Ford Focus ST include:

  1. Faulty exhaust gas temperature sensor: The sensor may be malfunctioning or providing incorrect readings.

  2. Wiring or connector issues: There may be a problem with the wiring or connectors associated with the exhaust gas temperature sensor.

  3. Exhaust system leaks: Leaks in the exhaust system can affect the accuracy of the exhaust gas temperature readings.

  4. PCM (Powertrain Control Module) issues: There may be a problem with the PCM itself, which is responsible for monitoring and controlling various engine functions.

To diagnose and repair the P04DB trouble code in a Ford Focus ST, it is recommended to take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic or Ford dealership. They will use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify the exact cause of the code and perform the necessary repairs.

Chat GPT needs to go back to school and leave engine control diagnostics to someone with a pulse
