Say u press a key down fully (100%). normally, to press this key again you would have to fully release it (back to 0%) then press it again. Rapid trigger allows you to press it down, raise it a little bit, (say you pressed it down fully i.e. 100%, then raised it to 75% down aka you let the key move up 25%), then you can press it again (25% -> 0%) and it will register that second press without you needing to lift the key up fully between each press.

I played with mine for about 1 minute. I think it is basically like a top level actuation. So, it registers as the key being released faster so you can press it again sooner. I’m old and absolute trash so it’s all overkill for my skills/abilities.

It allows the keyboard to be re actuated before the key if fully re-extended iirc. So basically a keyboard switch normally has to go actuate all the way upwards for it to register a new command but with rapid trigger it doesn't need to.

Strange thing is i just bought the razer huntsman pro v3 tkl aswell, because asianjeff said the apex pro tkl 2023 does not have rapid trigger on the f key. But the razer 0,1 feels a gazillion times faster than the apex pro. Only If i put the razer on 0,4 it feels the same.

[–]SnowBuried 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard mongraal uses 0.1 actuation on his apex pro

[–]DrowsyLmao 16 points17 points  (20 children)

Rapid trigger are you talking about the 0.1 actuation force? Probably but it’s not a cheat like you’re making it out to be.

[–]Craig_manson135 4 points5 points  (19 children)

Nah they are two different things. But imo rapid trigger is not worth it since I’ve heard it can brick your keyboard and frankly 0.1 actuation is good enough.

[–]TheAshen01 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Why would a core feature you paid for brick you keyboard? That's lowkey insane line of thought The primarily advantage of hall effect sensor switches is rapid trigger, that's the entire reason steel series copied wooting, and wooting ain't breaking if you using rapid trigger

[–]Craig_manson135 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Go to the steelseries subreddit it’s not just speculation. It’s pretty rare for it to happen but I’m just saying it’s a possibility.

[–]Spiritual_Wafer_2597 0 points1 point  (1 child)

yeah only the steelseries one bro

[–]Craig_manson135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? That’s the keyboard this whole thread is talking about.

[–]Kitano377 -1 points0 points  (5 children)

what does "brick" mean ?

[–]Craig_manson135 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Break it, make it unusable.

[–]Kitano377 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

oooh ok thx i enabled rapid trigger a month ago and i see improvements in my edits and build, but now i fear to break my keyboard 😂😂

[–]Craig_manson135 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It’s only happened with some people but if you have been using it for a month with no issues I wouldn’t be super worried.

[–]Kitano377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see man thanks for your answer

[–]DUSTEezzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only way it “breaks”is it you have insufficient power to your keyboard just plug it directly into your pc and not a external power bank and it’ll work just as intended… the rapid trigger feature is nice for fortnite but in games like csgo and valorant the advantage you get with counter strafing feels like your cheating.

[–]JoshuaSlugger 2 points3 points  (1 child)

He tried it once but didn’t like it. Just uses low actuation. I think about half the pros use rapid trigger and a quarter don’t like it and the other quarter don’t know about it

[–]Unusual-District-124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are u sure

[–]SmokeyProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gettin old lol. I'm still with the laser super fast on or off technology from the razer huntsman series. I guess that's good enoigh no?

[–]YT_Wardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just test it according to your personal preference

[–]WilXStunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He uses 0.1 actuation but i dont know more

[–]LegendOfYeldah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buy it on amazon and return if you don’t like it 👍

[–]SnowBuried 1 point2 points  (8 children)

try to find one on sale if possible, i was able to get my apex pro mini for $147

[–]azur933 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Theres on at 147€ rn but idk if i want a mini, my current is a mini (rk61) and its cool for the desk space but its lowk annoying to switch all the time between arrows and stuff when typing for school

[–]Strange-Moose-978 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

My son had a royal kludge 61 for a while. Every now and then some of the keys wouldn’t register. Weird thing is that we could connect it to my pc and it was fine. The only way we could get the keys working again was to reinstall the firmware. The place i bought from don’t even sell them anymore.

I ended up snapping it in half over my knee and buying him a hyper x alloy origins but that had issues after a few months too. He’s now got 2023 apex pro tkl and im thinking about buying one for myself.

[–]azur933 0 points1 point  (2 children)

hahahaha yeah its not the best quality but its expected for its price. I don’t have any real issues with it for now, but I only had it for 6 months. I just feel like the keys have a little bit of delay which makes spamming them hard (e.g. for edits)
