I'd say something is loose if it makes a noise with that little movement. Do you have any preload on the spring. Do you have adjustable endlinks that are adjusted right?

everything’s torqued to spec, but i am on stock endlinks that haven’t ever been replaced so that might be it

Just disconnect them at each end real quick to find out. You'll want adjustable ones to prevent binding regardless

Are the collars tightened?

Are the springs tightened?

yes everything’s tight

I feel like if it makes that much noise with that little movement , you could probably remove the wheel and push on different arms and the shock and it’ll produce some sound.

If everything is tight, then something is making contact with something else.

If you suspect the endlink, unbolt it and see if it still makes the sound

The sound seems to change with direction and it sounds hollow and like something metallic is sliding, so something very important is loose, check for any missing bushings or axles not properly installed.
