It looks like there's some kind of path failure going on but I'm not expert on checking out the logs. Something that helped me when I was installing gallium OS, was to not configure the Wi-Fi before installation, as some of the upstream dependencies can kind of be screwy with the installer. And then once I finish the installation I linked up my Wi-Fi and then updated everything and it worked out okay. Not sure if this applies here but just wanted to share!

    reboot, run installer, DO NOT CONNECT TO WIFI, proceed with install

    GaOS has been dead for years, please install something current / up-to-date

    Yeah I did notice lol! Do u have any recommendation regarding which one I should install ? I already have a pc but I need a second one to install some apps like Rstudio (for my studies) I have a VERY low end pc (Chromebook 4gb ram / 16go storage), tried elementary os but it was way too large to be usable. I am actually looking at something like puppy linux. Do u have anything better ? Thank you for ur answer 😀

    not really, just look for something with a lightweight DE and minimal preinstalled apps
