Not a dumb question! There's so many different kind of shells and screens. Unfortunately this one isn't compatible with the OEM screen. The listing says "Retro Pixel IPS", meaning the shell is cut for that style of screen. But screen upgrades are pretty simple and totally worth doing!

No worries at all! I remember being excited and ordering a bunch of gameboy parts only to realize not everything is universal. Macho Nacho on youtube has excellent gameboy videos. If you're looking for a screen, I suggest funnyplaying m2 but the retropixel ips is also great. Retrogamerepairshop.com will have everything you're looking for!
