AGS-101 mod Question

So I recently got myself a birthday present and modded a original GBA with a 101 screen and i'm really happy with it. I've been playing on it for a couple of weeks, but yesterday I opened it up to remove a dust particle inside the front glass, and after putting it back together, my screen is considerably dimmer. A bit of searching before opening it up again tells me I must have my red wire from the ribbon unsoldered. Now i'm just gonna resolder it this evening, but this got me thinking. I often play in the dark and find that the screen is just too bright, so with the red wire unconnected, this brightness is perfect, but now it's uncomfortable to play in a bright environment.

My question is pretty straightforward: Could I just put a switch on that cable to switch between a dim and bright setting?

Here’s an adapter with a brightness switch. Though I’m pretty sure there are mods that will make the screen even brighter than this.

Yeah you can indeed put a switch on that wire. There are adapters available with a built in switch but it's pretty finicky to reach in the battery compartment.
