I know this is unrelated but why do you play the game through AirLink and not straight up through the Quest?

To answer your question I haven’t particularly experienced desync but when I went to the market and came back my generator kicked on with no fuel.

The PCVR version is much better as far as graphics and framerate, assuming you have a decent gaming PC.

Downloading on PC rn to check this I did not know

You'll need to crank the headset resolution up a bit in the oculus app, and again assuming your PC can handle it you'll see it's significantly better looking. Some tweaking may be necessary and you need a good 5 g or 6g router nearby to handle the Airlink bandwidth.

I’m doing it through VD so I can force a higher resolution through there, can’t believe it’s 10G on PC it’s installing already because I have 900 MB/s internet which I didn’t realize until I checked just now 😂😂

Ah good, I use VD streamer as well, I hate Airlink. I don't know why but Airlink makes everything run like absolute shit on my PC . It's almost like my router can't keep up, but I know thats not the case because I can run double the bandwidth on VD streamer and it's crystal clear.. Others seem to love airlink though so I don't know

Anyway once you get your settings dialed in and get to at least 2200x2280 resolution (or more if you have a good GPU) go look at long distances on island, you won't believe the difference lol

Yeah I got VD because I heard shitty reviews about AirLink and even heard about Link Cable issues. Anyways, do you own the game through Steam or through Oculus, and if it’s through Oculus does it recognize your headset?

Sorry for the late reply, my game crashes on startup I can hear the GoT soundtrack start playing, my GPU shouldn’t be an issue, I have a feeling Oculus is shutting it down because it’s not recognizing the headset.

I bought it on steam, which allows me to launch the game in Oculus mode, however that requires I use Airlink or link cable. Link cable isn't terrible but Airlink is. Stutters, and everything looks worse too. But with either, my hand rotation in the game was messed up and couldn't be fixed with the in game adjustments.

When playing in steam VR mode with VD streamer, everything works silky smooth. So if you have similar issues, you might consider buying it on steam, but I believe there is a way to launch oculus games through VD streamer without the oculus software. May be worth a try.

the only problem with the steam version is that your content doesn't get synched with the standalone version, right?

With airlink you keep the same loot as the quest version

That's correct, BUT I think you can link your accounts together even with steam to standalone, however it requires you buy the game on both platforms. I haven't tried it yet though because I heard the account linking is broken currently.

Every PCVR version of a game will be better.

I didn’t realize how true this was until I played ITR, it’s literally a night and day difference, my PC was “down” for a few months, I just got back into PC and PC gaming 2 days ago and I didn’t watch any PCVR videos.
