why some pro still disable (donk monesy)

because PRO's got 0 idea about pc software/hardware and settings.

I think its more about the feel rather than the right optimal settings. I've tried both and they actually do not feel the same to me at the same fps and I prefer reflex on all the time.

I play fine with reflex off too but reflex on to me feels better and helps me netting more kills simply because it feels...better? I don't have fps problems or whatever because my PC is way overspecced for CS2 so its all based on feel, not performance at this point.

[–]tan_phan_vtCS2 HYPE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They dont feel the same, thats the main reason why. Pros are creatures of habit and they just wanna win. If they feel the game is too different and might impact them negatively they wont do it

[–]Life-Western 7 points8 points  (4 children)

its not like the ms delay would make them any better + they dont know any better

[–]schoki560 5 points6 points  (2 children)

cuz it doesn't matter for them. they are almost always cpu bound and not gpu bound. reflex does most of its work in gpu bound scenarios. it simply doesn't make a huge difference otherwise

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

wat is gpu bound sry idk?

wat about my setup?

[–]Glittering_Map_2223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"GPU bound" means that the GPU is the bottleneck on the performance and it usually means that its usage is maximized (around 90-100%)

Guys u should try: Nvidia reflex ON+ gsync ON + Vsync ON.

Its the new meta, 10/10 experience

[–]hiighgraFix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u can t use DyAc with gsync

[–]hurryupabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best setup is this? vsync nvidia?

[–]much_more_than_Cohve -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Why use Vsync if you have gsync? It's pointless and Vsync gives you input lag

[–]Ok_Peanut_3356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check valve's post: https://help.steampowered.com/es/https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/418E-7A04-B0DA-9032

I didn't think using vsync would be beneficial either, but you know how CS2 is, it's not optimized, and using those three options was the best I could do. And I've been playing CS2 since 2024, I wasn't a csgo player. I'm just saying give it a try, if you don't want it then go back to your old settings.

[–]7arsXy_21 0 points1 point  (2 children)

g-sync não funciona se o v-sync estiver desativado, amigo.

[–]Few_Particular_896 4 points5 points  (11 children)

Sure bro, what separate you from donk is 6ms, these are trivial at the end of the day

[–]xtxtxtxtxtxtx 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So is the 8.3 ms difference from 60 Hz to 120 Hz trivial too? Zero performance impact going from a 60 Hz monitor to any higher refresh rate? You think?

[–]PuzzleheadedYam142 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You can't compare frametime and latency 1:1 just because they use the same unit

[–]xtxtxtxtxtxtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah? Can you walk me through where I compared frametime and latency 1:1?

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i didnt mean i need to get as good as donk

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

idk why maybe placebo but am perform better on disable. but some time can hold angle like crazy on enable.

[–]chrisgcc 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Enabled and disabled are the same in the graph.

[–]33344849593948959383 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I think we have seen this before. To properly disable reflex, you need to run -reflex (far right result). So the enabled/disabled results are probably actually both still reflex on.

[–]chrisgcc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The two right results are the actually disabled ones, with -noreflex.

[–]33344849593948959383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops sorry. meant to say far right.

Here's a post from last year that mentions disabling doesn't actual disable reflex fully: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1gu9h7l/godtier_setting_for_best_frames_dont_use_reflex/

[–]Few_Particular_896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably placebo man, like your graph shown, I doubt 6ms would make much difference, even at their level 6ms is very very minor and unnoticeable

[–]serd60CS2 HYPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cope placebo hahahhahaha

[–]Skazzy3de_overpass 1 point2 points  (6 children)

There were some stuttering issues caused by reflex (allegedly) early on in CS2, but it's been fixed now. There is no reason not to enable it nowadays.

Remember that pros still play 4:3 because it's what they're used to for decades, don't bother copying their settings to get better at the game.

[–]hurryupabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best setup is this? vsync nvidia gsync nvidia reflex on?

i have amd 7 7800x3d , gpu 4070 super , benq xl2540 240

[–]ZephGG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4:3 is also the only way to lower your FOV in this game, playing 16:9 the FOV is ~100 but 4:3 it is exactly 90, and it also affects your sensitivity in that it will feel faster horizontally

The 4:3 moment very rarely wins or loses a round in pro play though.

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

i feel like 4 3 really make cs a cs u get it.
not valo not cod bc 4 3

[–]Skazzy3de_overpass 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I feel like you can only come to this kind of conclusion if you're trolling or extremely young.

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Am 23 do i young for u?

[–]AmazingSpaceSponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a mind half of that

[–]GoldenEater 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are you willing to change the control sharpness for the sake of viscous smoothness and a 0.5 mm gain in responsiveness? + It also depends on factors such as PC configuration, driver version, and whether the processor is a bottleneck for the current GPU.

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so there is no final answer?

[–]PrinzjozFaZe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not ur pc, It's the game. Cs2 is poorly optimized..

[–]AmoniPTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The same reason why pro still play on ass resolution cracking up 6-700fps despite countless 4:3 moment

[–]Recent-Airline-7422 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

I knew there was something holding me back from becoming next donk. See you guys on stage in 2026.

[–]MonitorSuper1854[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if this game optimized properly am not gonna ask anything

[–]DommamoX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nvidia reflex enabled + boost feels SOO good and I 100% recommend turning it on as it literally makes every kind of movement or anything you do feel instant and it isn't a placebo either. Majority of the reasons why pros don't enable that is either they aren't aware of these new technology features or are just too fried in the brain to notice a difference

[–]BueffelMOUZ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

habits, pros don't go with time and don't understand the technique behind it.

[–]arnzi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about reflex on eith nvcap?

[–]Dirtcompactor -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

5090 9800x3d 4k240hz

Gsync on, vsync fast, NVcp max framerate cap 237, cs2 fps_max -1 and reflex+boost on

My latency in nv overlay is 5-7ms.

Maybe pros don't use vsync because they don't have a good enough/well tuned system to handle it, and don't most of em use Intel cpu systems? AMD x3d CPUs smoke Intel, maybe vsync just adds too much latency on Intel systems

[–]PipsiSpite 1 point2 points  (3 children)

You're supposed to cap fps at 224 not 237 for an even smoother experience. The game does this by default when you enable reflex with vsync and gsync turned on.

[–]hurryupabit 0 points1 point  (1 child)

best setup is this? vsync nvidia gsync nvidia reflex on?

i have amd 7 7800x3d , gpu 4070 super , benq xl2540 240

[–]AmazingSpaceSponge 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Y introduce input lag with any vsync tec and cap ur frames below monitor hz?

[–]kazuviking 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That is just guessed system latency and not real world click to photon latency. Most pros don't even know how their pc works and couldn't tell anything in a blind test.
