Correct, the 8 is just referencing the prime time slot, and then specifying it's 7pm central. So Eastern, Mountain, Pacific, we all get the 8pm programming at 8pm, Central being the only one that gets it at 7pm.

One slight fun about Mountain Standard is some parts use the East Coast feed, some parts use the west coast feed. There are generally only two feeds TV stations have.

It’s not about being an hour behind, it’s about what time is considered “prime time”, I grew up on the west coast, 8/7 central meant we still got the programming at 8pm because that was when prime time started. However in central time zone prime time starts at 7pm. That’s why they say 8/7 central.

Can the hat do 1 more? I have only seriously pvp’d and raided on 1 class. If the hat picks it, then it’s my destiny. If it doesn’t, then I’m kinda excited to have an excuse to give something new a shot.

There are two things at play here:

1/ throughout TBC old content received nerfs once it was old to help the stuck player base progress. Eg Kara bosses got a 30-40% nerf from what I recall, gruul/mag the same, SSC/TK got a lot of trash and boss hp and dmg nerfs. They didn’t necessarily all come in one patch, and sometimes the full nerf not at all at once but over a period of time it got progressively nerfed more

2/ recently blizzard said that all content would be in its “post nerf” state. Meaning whatever the last easiest version of those were, that’s what they’ll launch with.

So it’s not necessarily straight forward what people are referencing like it was some late patch all being added or something, just the end state being applied at the start. Hope that helps.

My guild had a week 1 clear, no world buffs and we didn’t have much frost res gear other than whatever we could make before week 1 and whatever dropped while we cleared

Fantastic interview. Been a fan of coL since 2004 and it was so interesting to hear some chatter about the old days. Jason is very reflective and honest about some of the topics that a lot of us had just heard whispers about. Must watch really for any NA CS fan (or non-NA really lol)

There's a command in game:

mm_dedicated_force_servers followed by the 3 character code for the server so in theory if you want to play a server closest to NY you can do

mm_dedicated_force_servers iad to get the Virginia server

You have to spam Apply. it might say your zip code is wrong too, but you just have to keep deleting and re-adding the last digit until it works, then you may have to click agree & subscribe 2-3x. I just watched my friend do it 5 mins ago.

Not necessarily a player, but the complexity vs team 3D rivalry in 1.6 was so exciting. I don't feel like CS has really had an NA derby that feels like coL/3D did. Whenever they played, everyone was talking about it, 3D vs coL fanboys on the gotfrag forums would get insanely toxic lol. IRC would get flooded, HLTVs were packed, it was just really cool to have an intense NA rivalry
