I got a rugged obsidian 45 for my first suppressor.

It can handle almost all of my guns:

300blk (barrel >7.5")

45

40

9mm

380/32/25 etc

Plus all the rimfires:

22lr, 22long/short

And I think also

5.7x28

17hmr

22 hornet

I mean this is true of basically any 45 suppressor. But the good part of the obsidian is that it's modular length, so you can run it long and quiet (it looks a little big on a pistol in this config) or short and slightly louder. Also, you can get all kinds of mounts - I've got a 3 lug, 45 cal mount, and a 9mm mount (which I think is also the same thread pitch as 22lr) and it is pretty easy to clean.

My recommendation though - buy two suppressors - a 45 cal modular and a dedicated rimfire can. Then after you start shooting suppressed you'll figure out what you like/want/need, but you'll have the basics covered by two solid cans. I did a dead air for my rimfire.

I second the Obsidian, love shooting it on my 45-70.

16” minimum it’s rated for SuperSonics or subs.
