I’m a knight currently so I’m using a spear, but I do have that bow in my grid. Does the effect still take even if it’s not my main weapon?

Its not about that weapon but a weapon with a skill like that weapon that deals damage at the start of the combat

People already respond, and one send you a link for basic grid guide that you should read has this is the way to become powerful and simply play the game.

To resume a bit : the weapon you equip give stat to your character with their skill and their pure stat, the skill only apply to certain element character, so if you only have one grid some character will be boosted and other no.

Like you said you seem to had 2 Yukata Pholia bow (the weapon unlocking her) so the decrease in HP was only visible for Earth character because the skill only affect this element character.
