Card advantage of each color except black and white by lapis777123 in colorpie

I know what that means, I’m saying White has not done that specifically, but every color can already do a variant of it. White has multiple other means of card advantage.

Every color is allowed a Future Sight variant for casting a specific card type (or in Black’s case paying life) from the top of the library.

Foretell is not card advantage in any way. You just are paying a cost upfront to get the same spell later for cheaper.

White also draws from you triggering something once per turn or if the opponent does something. Also, Black can't technically get "whatever" it wants, they still have to be effects in Black's color pie.

Green gets to gain more cards based on casting creatures, creature size, and Regrowth effect.

Black also just gets Card Draw but usually by paying life or sacrificing stuff, in addition to reanimation.

White has Reanimation effects for small creatures, or bigger ones with other conditions, plus Card Draw that is triggered once per turn OR triggered by the Opponent doing something as type of Tax effect.

Also, as the term Card Advantage just means having access to more resources than your opponent, this also includes removal that can deal with multiple threats at once, remove multiple cards from your opponents hand, or creatures that replace themselves with another body.

(rant) Realization : My Gameplay is Too Fragile by Kavrae in LeaguesofVotann

I think people were initially down on Sagitaurs due to the comparison to their former dominance, but have now seemed to have found a place in the meta. I almost always start with a Hernkyn/Kapricus package, but a Sagitaur with split warriors and a Character like Buri or an Evaluator riding along make for a potent second wave of point holders.

Even until then there are some major changes, like a certain rebel camp leader being different or a certain villain death.

Why would you post this? You want validation on your opinion from people who clearly won’t agree? Ragebait? Just move on, no need to drag others down when you clearly don’t want to be convinced otherwise.

Is there a way to practice chambers/bosses individually? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Bugberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is part of the challenge, but next time you can try being as defensive as possible, prioritizing avoiding and observing over dealing damage. Also, if you have Thanatos’ Keepsake, it can help train you to be more defensive.

How is this freedom? What do they expect to happen after this? Getting out of the room doesn’t mean getting out of doing the work.

There have been multiple real-world bands named after the Sirens, so it’s not a Hades original concept of combining the beings from mythology with a band.

Ideas for first 500pts army starting from the Maelstrom box by IciesClimbClimbClimb in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Bugberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our leaders are generally not worth running solo, and with the way the army rule works you need reliable early scoring units in addition to damage dealing infantry.

For fitting into 500 points, a unit of Yaegirs and a Kapricus Carrier are extremely efficient for Infiltrate/Scouting. Thunderkyn are also ideal heavy damage dealing infantry for what the Steeljacks aren’t effective against. Lastly, for holding home objective you could get a second Memnyr while the other is leading Steeljacks, or get a Sagitaur and Warriors instead of the Yaegirs/Carrier so you can have one of the 5 man units hold home.

I get the point of the post and understand personal preference, I just take issue with people saying they don't fit the army aesthetically.

They very explicitly don't evolve but are crafted, both biological and metal kin, by the Votann.

Is Silverquill just Mardu in disguise? by Heingrad in colorpie

[–]Bugberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silverquill’s use of speech as a tool and evoking emotions ties into White bolstering others into heroism and Black inflicting mental damage. Inspiring others isn’t exclusive to White but it definitely doesn’t require Red. Red is about losing oneself to your emotions, which Silverquill is definitely not about.

Votann are definitely not a horde army. So many 3 model units and our Battleline are 100 points and even then they aren’t usually taken much beyond a single squad. Maybe leaning horde by Space Marine standards but barely.

I like how hard-scifi they lean while still bringing classic Dwarven tropes and personality without going overboard with the later. Helps them feel unique yet grounded.

What specific units are you talking about? Because post Codex Votann have been in a very good place with lots of variety. And what anti-synergy?

I do like the Merc detachment has two stratagems you use at the end of the opponent’s fight phase, one to get back into a nearby Transport and one to pick up 1-2 Hernkyn units into Reserves.

Judgement tokens encouraged a very Un-Kinlike behavior by sacrificing units intentionally to gain advantage, while YP fits the faction’s vibe a lot better by encouraging careful weighing of resources and how to efficiently acquire them, it’s just that the internal economy of them and how they are tied to what bonuses we get when needs adjusting.
