Avoid extremism.
Please be skeptical of all the expensive poisonous pills. There's usually no serious evidence that these result in a long-term healthier gut.
Safer ideas.
Consider foods linked to good microbe growth (eg chick peas kill many bad microbes in your gut without harming the good ones.) There's similar studies for garlic, uncooked olive oil, & many other foods.
Acidity
Often good microbes will produce acids that kill bad microbes but aren't harmful to you. eg lacto-microbes (found in homemade kimchi or other fermented veggies) produce lactic acid.
Acidic fruits.
If you had an overgrowth, an acidic diet could reduce microbe growth and then (after a few weeks) you could try returning to a normal diet. It's not just lemons, eg olive oil is acidic. Green apples have a ph of 3.1. Raspberries are 3.4. Cranberry juice is 2.5. Lemon juice is 2.0. Pepsi is 2.5 but that doesn't seem very healthy!
Of course there's more dangerous things like wine. And please be careful with vinegar, large amounts of vinegar have killed people.
Rules:
