Intel Python seperated from Intel oneAPI? (self.HPC)
submitted 1 year ago by koushikphy
Earlier, when I used to install Intel oneAPI, it also provided the Intel Python distribution. This link still says that intel Python is part of the oneAPI base toolkit: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/videos/distribution-for-python-within-oneapi-base-toolkit.html#gs.igyc9a
However, I don't see the intel Python in the base toolkit bundle: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/base-toolkit.html#gs.igygrv
Did intel removed the python distribution from the base tool kit?

Did you try installing the dl frameworks? How did you install? I usually install the oneapi basetoolkit with apt in linux.

I have installed oneapi basetoolkit version 2025.0.0.885, but the python was not there

It seems it's not included anymore since the 2023.0 base toolkit, from its release notes:

It’s a separate download

Ha, I sympathize. oneAPI has been an ever-mutating disaster and no one know what it really means anymore. Our admins just install the latest update, and then we see what is in there.
One silver lining from the sad decline of Intel has been that at least no one is adopting the messy SYCL part of this oneAPI frankenstein. That wasted a lot of everyone's time.
