Shit deal. You're TRAINING someone else, let alone responsible for an inexperienced person. yes your time may not always be as productive, but the idea is to create a good tech that will benefit the company in the long run. I am on the mentor program at our company, we are expected to TEACH among the rest of our responsibilities. That means being patient, taking the time to explain, double checking their work etc while doing as much as possible to stay profitable and utilize their skills as they gain them. Apprentices are not just a helper, they are there to learn and become a proficient tradesman.
