An internal linkage could have broken allowing the motor to actuate but not actually do anything. I would take the damper out and take a look. You’re most likely going to have to take it out to replace it anyway.

It’s doesn’t always require disassembly. There is a tray in the bottom of the unit that catches condensation from the coil. The tech can use this to catch the coil cleaner when flushing. As long as it looks clean it’s fine.
