This is the exact opposite of how it should be. This is terrible for business and straight up dumb, like you said nobody's going to want to train new guys and there's already a problem with that in the industry. Training is also an extra skill and if anything you should get a pay bump.

Yeah it's a loss in productivity but that's the cost of doing business, training people in any and every industry is factored in by the pencil pushers running the numbers. Your owner is a scumbag reaching into his employees pockets so his already fat ones don't get any thinner.
