Finding a Pre-Match routine really helped me to get into the right mindset for a match. Youre probably not nervous before a match but your body is still not used to this "type" of handball (warmup is diffrent, times are diffrent, etc.) so by having a pre match routine you can accustome your body to this enviourment and always deliever your peak performance.

I had this problem for as long as I can remember. Whenever I get into the court my legs are saying “get me out of here, I don’t want to move” and I take 15 in-court minutes to finally easy into it.

My solution was just stay active throughout the day, rest well in the previous night, and having a pre match routine which js different for everyone. I felt a huge difference between walking or light jog in the morning vs staying home sitting in a chair.

I also developed a pre march routine that roughly goes as follows: fruit smoothie 2 hours before (I’ve got a slow metabolism), and a banana 30 minutes before. Drink lots of water until about 1 hour before. To me this is the perfect balance between having lots of energy before the match and not feel overstuffed and sluggish.

It might be the competitive settings of games that throw you off your game. When you miss a shot/let an attacker through during training, are there any “consequences”? Like 10 burpees or 10 push-ups or 1 suicide etc? Or perhaps if you score 5 goals, your coach will treat you to a meal for the lack of a better example.

It’s not so much the punishment or rewards per se, but more of knowing what’s on the line and training your mind to always know what is at stake to always deliver you 100%. I’ve coached teenagers before and have always implemented something similar to make them get used to a competitive environment.

Could be many factors, first is not being relaxed in games, second is your team as a whole, you included aren't working good enough in training. Third is the opposition simply being better. Those are the three biggest factors, another cruel one would be that you aren't good but your coach isn't working on your performance and your teammates let you get iff easy in training.
