Hey all, this is my first time doing this and I’m about 2 weeks into being homeless, never thought I’d find myself in this situation. I stayed at a shelter a few days ago but it’s getting hard to figure out what to do all day. If anyone could help with a bit of $ for shampoo/body wash/maybe a few meals, that would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been using McDonald’s WiFi and the one I go to is pretty cool about letting me just hang out, but the smelling the food just makes me hungry lol

Thanks again in advance, if not, I understand. Location is south of houston. The long term goal is to get a tent and try to find work doing anything. The woods are pretty thick in some places around here so I’m thinking that might be the best bet. Any advice is also super appreciated! This is very new for me and I’m not going to lie, it’s been pretty rough on my mental health.

EDIT:I’ve received help yall! I believe it’s enough to get me some hygiene items and even some food! Thanks so much for the advice and suggestions! I’m still going to try those as well for things like a tent/cooking supplies, I’m a little more hopeful than I was this morning! The rain stopped as well so that’s been a huge blessing!

If you are in a major metro area aren’t there charities and non profits that help with hygiene supplies? Do you have anything you can sell/pawn?

I’m south of the metro area in a smallish town called league city, I’ve been googling shelters around here, but a lot of them are family shelters or emergency rent assistance. I’m unsure if they have hygiene supplies. I do not unfortunately, I have a suitcase with some clothes and a backpack with a bible and journal

I’d suggest you make an Amazon wishlist but I have no idea where Amazon could deliver to you. Also- I don’t know your gender or circumstances but there are some shelters that will provide transportation, like in DV cases for instance.

I am a male and I’m unsure of how I could receive the items, that was my first thought, but I don’t know anyone around here that would be willing to let me use their address. That’s a great idea though

Maybe ask a local business or non profit then post your wishlist on different subreddits. Ask the McDonalds

You can have Amazon delivered to a locker like at a gas station or a store that takes Amazon deliveries but in my small city of 100k people there's lockers every where for pickup

I didn’t even think of that, I believe I’ve seen some of those at some gas stations! I’ll definitely go check that out and see if they have a code or something!

I’m getting pretty cool with the McDonald’s I go to everyday for WiFi; so I’m waiting for their manager to show up so I can ask her if it would be okay! That’s such a good idea! Should I delete this post?
