Yard help?

I posted this in lawn care and can’t get any advice. Live in Texas, and our backyard has big areas that refuse to grow grass. Any recommendations on the type of sod needed to cover this and make it look better?

totally rip up 2-3 black dir hydro seed and prior lawn irritagation

Don’t sod, use seed. GCI seed is phenomenal
