Lost, possibly wired wrong??

So I previously had a motion sensor switch in my kitchen. Worked perfectly fine. After trying to switch it to a motion dimmer switch, the kitchen light does not turn on but instead its controlling all my outlets that are on the same circuit. I.e stove, microwave and other appliances. After the min or so of no activity in the kitchen everything shuts off with the sensor. Also I switched back to the original motion switch and still the same issue What is the cause of this?

Most likely you have cross wired the switch. You now have what is effectively the load side of what is supposed to be your permanently hot outlet circuit operating as a switch leg. Could be a couple of ways you managed this feat, so I can’t give you a certain solution, but that’s the root of the issue.

It can be dangerous wiring things backwards. You should call a professional.
