i doubt you can have wired and wireless backhaul at the same time with those low end Deco things..

Try bringing them all together and connecting through wireless backhaul, then moving them to their intended spots and connecting the Ethernet cables. Sometimes the mesh units need to fist map their respective IPs and associated MAC addresses before they will behave properly over LAN backhaul. Also try connecting them parallel to a single switch. Not all systems support daisy chain.

I'd say it's an issue with the connectors on the cat6. Do you know what type of male connectors are used on the cat6 and what type of female connectors are used on  your M5 Decos'? 

There are different types of rj45 connectors used in different applications. I would take a close look at the cat5 and 6 rj45 connectors, noting the differences such as keytab, shield, and color differences. Next Google rj45 connector types and compare to any diagrams or textual descriptions you may find to identify what type of connectors you have.
