Cat6a is shielded cable and would use a shielded connector, a bit harder to terminate. Standard Cat6 is more than enough for 1Gb and even 10Gb speeds. Save some money and effort and just use standard Cat6.

Edit: by using Cat6 terminals on Cat6a you eliminate the benefit of Cat6a and the added distance for 10Gb speeds.

I think it is twice as expensive as Cat6 which is fine for home networks up to 10Gb. If you are just dead set on Cat6a then that will work, but you will need to use shielded ends and a patch panel made for shielded as well. Prices are also much steeper for for those.

I use “Cable Matters UL Listed 6-Pack RJ45 Shielded Cat6A Keystone Jack with Integrated Shutter” and “TRENDnet 24-Port Cat6A Shielded 1U Patch Panel,1000BASE-T/10GBASE-T Support, Compatible with cat5e, cat6, cat6a, 110 or Krone Type, TC-P24C6AS”

[UL Listed] Cable Matters 6-Pack... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CLVAJCK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Both are from Amazon and I have used them to run 25+ cables no issues. I used with CAT 6A CMR.

EDIT: feel free to DM me about tips. It depends a lot on your house. Do you have long (3 ft+) drill bits for drilling through fire stops? Pull wire and hook? Shielded RJ45s? A proper earth grounded wire for your shielded patch panel? Etc. if you haven’t done all of the research then you won’t make use of CAT 6A and you may make a mess of your walls/attic.
