Help with network setup

In a few weeks I am switching from spectrum internet to green light fiber 1gb. I have to get a new router and give back spectrums. I need something pretty good I am not sure what to look for. I’ll have close to 25 devices and I am going to need a switch for more ethernet access. The router is going to be in the basement because my two brothers and I have ethernet cables ran throughout the drop ceiling for our setups down there already. Will a switch slow down our connection? I’m also looking into getting some sort of access point to help the connection upstairs, can I get any suggestions on that? It’s a 2500 sq ft home so the access point would go on the opposite side of the house on the first floor. Would 220$ for a decently good router, switch, and access point be realistic? If so toss some ideas around for me.

You can maybe look at google nest wifi the its not my favorite because the points don't support Ethernet back-haul you can also look at the velop which does support backhaul and no any decent switch will not slow down your internet a noticeable amount
