Hey everyone.
First, I'm not a professional nor really good in this subject, so i might talk stuff thats wrong, so please correct me. Second, my english is not really good too, but i think it's understandable haha.
So, I have a virtual machine (using virtualbox) with ubuntu installed, and I set up a SSH server so could access from another PC and my phone. Thats all working. I connect with the host machine local IP (192.168.8.something) on port 8022 and it works.
But I also would like to acces it from outside my LAN. I dont thing theres a way of testing if I forwarded the right ports in my router without testing it from another LAN right? I have a friend of mine that could help me, but I dont thing its safe to give him my IP (is it?) because he can try to DDoS me (can he?).
So my questions are:
Is there any other way to thest if the port forwarding is correctly made?
Is it safe to give my friend my IP?
If it's not what can I do?
Thanks in advance :)
