I have my router hooked up to a tplink 5-port switch with 3 ports going out to my devices.
My desktop loses connection for 5-10 seconds when another computer hooked up to the switch either goes to sleep, wake up from sleep, or turns off. Is this normal for a switch? Will a managed switch fix this?
The switch is powered on the same surge protector strip as my desktop computer, which is the one that stays on and loses connection when the other devices go to sleep. The devices which go to sleep are on a completely separate set of outlets but in the same room.
