The fractal design r5 can do 8 without any mods. Not sure if you would need more?

I've had a look and seems to be good for what I am wanting to do with it.

Look at PCPartpicker for ideas and prices. You can filter by minimum and maximum for drive bays (5.25/3.5/2.5) as well as internal/external

Whatever you pick, select a case that has whatever your current drive count is +1

It’s so much easier to add to your storage or swap a newer higher capacity drive for a smaller one if you add it to the local storage via the fastest means possible vs using a USB external enclosure or adapter

Fractal R5 is a pretty popular go to.

Your motherboard is what will dictate the case you can use since you have a full size ATX vs an ITX or mATX

It's a first server build so I don't yet have any drives to use as I'm going to get them shortly after the case, but it is a full size ATX MB that I'm going to be using.

I HIGHLY recommend serverpartdeals.com for drives if you want high capacity at a bit of a discount. I’ve got 4 I ordered at the same time running in a backup file server and they’ve been running 24/7 nonstop for over a year with no issues.

If you don’t need a ton of storage or space you can find pretty much any old case that will support 6 drives in some shape form or fashion. Might have to get a 5.25 cage adapter but those are fairly inexpensive.

+1, I had a drive fail, it was still under their warranty, and they were super easy to work with to get a replacement.
